Geoffrey Willmoth, AttorneyGeoffrey Willmoth’s current practice includes various aspects of employment and family based immigration law. With his unique background in both science and law, Geoffrey’s practice has a focus on representing university professors, scientists, and researchers seeking non-immigrant or immigrant visas as well as other science and technology related cases.

Geoff enters immigration practice with a broad range of knowledge in related areas of law such as labor and corporate laws and with solid training in handling administrative and court hearings and related research and writing. Immediately prior to joining Willmoth Immigration Law, Geoffrey was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri providing representation for the Department of Mental Health and several state licensing boards. At this position his work covered administrative law and probate law, and he handled many hearings in circuit and appellate courts and before administrative judges and licensing boards, including jury trials and contested guardianships cases.

Prior to his work at the Missouri Attorney General's office, he was a Law Clerk at the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District for three years, providing research and writing for the Honorable judges Thomas Newton, Ronald Holliger and Joseph Ellis, where he worked on many cases involving corporate, commercial, and labor law. In addition to his immigration practice, Geoffrey continues to handle guardianship cases.

Education:

A member of the Missouri and Kansas Bar Associations, Geoffrey received his undergraduate degree (B.S. Nuclear Engineering, minors in Mathematics and Political Science 1996) from the Missouri Institute of Science and Technology and his law degree (J.D., 2005) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Geoffrey spent one and a half years as a visiting student at the Center for Non-linear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
